Ice Keys, born Confidence Kudzaishe Ngonyamo, is a multi-talented Zimbabwean artist whose versatility spans across Hip-hop, Afro Pop, R&B, and the self-founded genre "Rapoetry" a unique blend of rap and poetry he introduced in 2024. A dynamic performer, lyricist, and creative visionary, Ice Keys also wears many hats: songwriter, poet, graphite artist, professional dancer, graphics designer, entrepreneur, and musician. He is known for his deep artistic expression, lyrical storytelling, and cultural representation through his music.


Growing up in Dangamvura, Mutare, Ice Keys began his creative journey at an early age. He first stepped into the limelight as a breakdancer, earning the title of one of the best dancers in Manicaland. At just 11 years old, he kickstarted his entertainment career, participating in small & major talent showcases such as StarBrite and Dream Star, reaching the semi-finals of StarBrite in 2016.


Influenced by icons such as System Tazvida, Josphat Somanje, Sylent Nqo, Usher Raymond, Christopher Syrra Brown, Lil Bow Wow, Eminem(Matthew Mathers), Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne(D'wayne

Michael Carter), Michael Jackson, ExQ, Ti Gonzi, Jnr Brown, Kritic Igwe and Tammy Moyo, IceKeys fuses international inspiration with local Zimbabwean flavor, crafting a sound that’s both fresh and rooted. He’s also a skilled instrumentalist, proficient in playing traditional Zimbabwean instruments like the mbira and bongo.


His professional music career launched in 2013 with the debut single “I'm Blessed” featuring Lisa Rae (Melissa Chizaza), produced by C. Bleech. He followed up with “Samanyika” in 2014, Produced by Trapper Cyd and Satie Beats(Talent Satande)who now goes by the name Talent Light. In 2023, he performed at Caff's Record Label Launch, sharing the spotlight with artists like Caff (Lionel Matanda), Ras Kumbu, Edge Sparta, Diamond Boiz Duo (Sparxx & D. Boi), Roc, Mr Regular, and Young Ice(Nigel Maradza).


An alumnus of Mutare Polytechnic College, Ice Keys studied Graphics and Design as well as Musicology between 2016 and 2019, cementing his foundation in both the visual and sonic arts.


In 2020, he unleashed his debut 6 track album titled "Confidence Boosta". On Confidence Boosta he worked with King Elaman, Dj Satie, Gransunn & Jae Drilla. 


In 2023, he worked with Prince Shahhah on a song titled, "Get Off" My Seat Produced by Jae Drilla and Prince Shahhah.


In 2024, he unveiled a piece of Rapoetry on a song titled Wakura iwe Produced by Dramar(Kudakwashe Tafura) and he also unleashed the visuals. The visuals of the Wakura iwe (Diana) were Produced and Directed by Wills Maisvoreva of the Elevation Creations.


In 2025, he unveiled a fresh cover of Chris Brown’s “Residuals”, showcasing his vocal prowess and ability to reinterpret global hits with his unique flair. Currently, Ice Keys is in the studio working on new material, promising more authentic, genre-blending music for his growing fanbase.

Currently[2025], He unleashed his 3rd offering of this year, a Sungura fusion Drill jam titled, Vanomutsa Varere Produced By Dj Chillaz & iAmJ.G.Beatz and he also working on the visuals with Wills(Willie Maisvoreva) from Elevation Media 


Currently, he is working on his 2nd album which he is going to release next year.
